Hello everyone! I thought I would put up a quick post showing pictures of a 1948 Centennial badged Singer 201K4 that I just finished referbishing. To be honest, this machine started it's life as a 201K3 in a cabinet. About a month ago I had the opportunity to pick up two different 201K3's in one weekend! I rarely see 201K's in my area so that was kind of a exciting and rare event for me. Since I now had two 201K3's and just so happened to have a spare hand crank, spoked handwheel, and bentwood case I decided to do the quick and easy transition from a 201K3 to a 201K4. I refinished the bentwood case and went through my normal cleaning routine on this machine. I've never owned a hand cranked 201 before now and let me tell you that I was surprised how easy and smooth it turns....and as most 201's it sews a perfect stitch. Enough said! Enjoy the pictures! Please feel free to comment or post and questions you might have.

It’s beautiful & sounds like a dream to use! I have a tailed 201-2 so know just what you mean regarding its perfect stitch!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I have a few 201-2's and one of them is my wife's go to machine.
DeleteIt is lovely. A work of art
ReplyDeleteThanks.....and thank you for visiting my blog.
DeleteI have a German Singer in a table with a bent wood cover that need brighting. Did you put New decals on the cover. Did you strip the old finish? It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYes the old finish was stripped off the bentwood. No sanding was done. I was able to retain the original decal on this one. I've done other bentwoods where I've replaced the decal.
