Here we have an 1889 Willcox & Gibbs chain stitch machine in three-quarter cabinet. I saw this machine in an auction in the state of Indiana in late 2023. Because I was so far away (8 hours) from the auction, I decided to show it to a fellow sewing machine enthusiast friend of mine so he could have a crack at it. He bid and won the auction. A few weeks later I get a call from him stating that he would be driving through the area. He indicated that he already had this same machine/cabinet combination and was wondering if I would be interested in buying the machine he won in the aucton. Since I originally wanted the machine I said "absolutely"! Since he has delivered the machine I've only done two things to it. I put a belt on it to see if it would sew (it does) and I fabricated some leaf support brackets for it. The machine came with the leaf support but it was missing the two brackets that attach the bracket to the machine. This machine is waiting in line for a full clean up and preservation. I will update this post when I complete that work. In the meantime....enjoy the pics! The picture above and the first three pictures below are from the auction listing. The rest are after I recieved the machine/cabinet.

Another lovely treadle. I have the standard style, not a super pretty style like yours.
