I don't have too many sewing machines made overseas but here is my 1892 Frister & Rossmann. It's a transverse shuttle sewing machine and is adorned with "3 Stars and Snowflakes" decoration. I bought this machine from the same seller that I bought my 1909 Singer 66K hand crank machine that I just posted about this morning. Below are a few pictures of the machine and case when I got home the day I bought it.
The machine was in really nice condition and just needed to be cleaned up. The key that came with the machine was not the right key and did not open the case. I took apart the lock to figure out what the key needed to look like and then modified a key that I bought down at the local antique store to make the lock operational. Yes.....it's not original but it works!!! The only other thing I did to this machine was replace the old dried up bobbin winder tire with a new one. She sews a very nice stitch and runs very smoothly. One of these days I'm sure I'll get around to cleaning up the metal bits on the machine but it's beautiful in it's current state. Enjoy the pictures!
Above is the key I modified and below is a video of the key working in the lock.
Lovely!!!
