Today I'm sharing my Stag Electric sewing machine. The Stag Electric sewing machines were manufactured by the National Sewing Machine Co. and branded with the Stag Electric name for the Joseph Hornes Co. department stores which were located in the Pittsburgh, PA area. National branded machines under many different names and did so more than any other sewing machine company that I'm aware of. It's not a valuable machine but it's interesting. This machine is in very good condition and is equiped with a Hamilton Beach style (National branded) swing away motor. Although I don't know the precise date the machine was manufactured I can guess that the machine was made sometime from late 19 teens to the mid 1920's as that is when the Hamilton Beach sytle motors were popular. I found this machine at a garage sale near Belle Vernon, PA several years ago. Being from the Pittsburgh area....I couldn't pass it up!
